Two $1,000 scholarships supporting Utah art students attending a Utah college. Submit by April 1.

Scholarship Overview

The Harry Bertoia Foundation (a nonprofit in St. George, Utah) awards two scholarships of $1,000 each to qualified recipients to support attendance at a Utah college.

Applicants submit an application, images of artwork, an essay, and letters of recommendation. From what we understand, they have not received many applicants in past years, making this worth pursuing if you qualify.

Award Details

$1,000 Scholarship

Two scholarships are awarded, one to a male student and one to a female student, to support educational costs for the fall semester.

Funds are sent directly to your school once approved.

Eligibility

This scholarship is geared toward art students in Utah attending (or planning to attend) a Utah college.

Residency

You must be a legal resident of the United States or its territories.

Student Status

High school seniors planning to enroll, and current college students, may apply if they are pursuing art studies.

Preference

Applicants who have not previously received this scholarship may be preferred.

Application Requirements

Submit the following materials with your application.

Letters of Reference

Two letters of reference from appropriate art mentors (not related).

Essay

One essay (up to 1,000 words) about your relationship to art: approach, goals, and feelings about your work.

Artwork Samples

Three images of your artwork with dimensions and descriptions.

How to Submit

Applications are not submitted online at this time. Download the application and email your completed packet by April 1.

Follow Up Requirements

Once approved for funds (sent directly to your school for fall semester), additional requirements apply.

Post-Semester Report

Submit a report after the semester outlining classes taken, grades received (or research paper/project completed), and exactly how funds were used.
